Cebu Pacific suspends flights to and from Cebu, Tagbilaran-A A +A

BUDGET carrier Cebu Pacific Air on Tuesday suspended flights to and from Tagbilaran (Bohol) and Cebu in the wake of a magnitude-7.2 quake that jolted Visayas.
In an advisory, Cebu Pacific said it would provide updates soonest on when the flights can resume.
"Please be advised that all flights to and from Tagbilaran and Cebu have been suspended in the meantime, due to a strong earthquake this morning. We will provide updates as soon as they are available," it said via Twitter.
"If you know anyone with a flight to or from Tagbilaran or Cebu, please do help spread the word. Thanks for understanding!" it added.
Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines (Zest) flights were also affected by the quake.
In an advisory, it said that while Cebu and Tagbilaran Aerodromes are now open, they are still awaiting clearance from airport authorities who inspected the facilities.
While Z2-380 (Manila to Cebu) departed on schedule, Z2-354 (Manila to Tagbilaran) and Z2-350 (Manila to Tagbilaran) are awaiting clearance.
The airline said guests who cannot make it to the airport have a one-time free flight move, 30 days from Tuesday .
Earlier, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines inspected major airports in the Visayas, including the Mactan International Airport and Tagbilaran Airport in Bohol.
Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said Mactan was cleared for operations while Tagbilaran could be cleared after a brief cleanup. (JK/Sunnex)
