5.1-magnitude aftershocks jolt Cebu, Bohol-A A +A

CEBU CITY -- Two magnitude 5.1 aftershocks from Tuesday's magnitude 7.2 quake hit Bohol and Cebu province before noon Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the aftershocks were recorded at 9:36 a.m. and 10:42 a.m. but no damage was expected.
In a radio interview, Phivolcs specialist Carl Vincent Soriano said that as of 11 a.m. Wednesday, they recorded 857 aftershocks.

Soriano also said they do not expect the aftershocks to be more powerful than Tuesday's quake, though they may be expected for at least a week before subsiding. (JK/Sunnex)
