MANILA -- Rain from the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) may fall over quake-hit areas in Central Visayas on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa indicated the ITCZ is affecting Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao. In meteorology, the ITCZ appears as a "band of clouds" carrying thunderstorms.
Pagasa said Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms.
Several areas in Central Visayas, including Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor, were hit hard by a magnitude-7.2 quake that hit the region last Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be "partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
It also said moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. (JK/Sunnex)
