Comelec: Gun ban violators reach 438-A A +A

ALMOST 440 persons have been arrested so far in the ongoing implementation of the gun ban for this month's barangay elections.
Based on the latest tally released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) as of 8 a.m. Monday, October 21, a total of 438 gun ban violators have been arrested in various operations and police checkpoints across the country.
The list includes 410 civilians, five policemen, 16 security guards, four from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and three government officials.
The gun ban operations were also able to net 3,342 firearms and explosives across the archipelago.
The Comelec gun ban will last until November 12. (Sunnex)
