Pagasa: Typhoon Francisco may enhance Amihan-A A +A

MANILA -- A typhoon approaching the Philippines may not make landfall but may enhance the Northeast Monsoon (Hanging Amihan), state weather agency said.
In a radio interview, forecaster Manny Mendoza of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also said the typhoon may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Monday evening or early Tuesday.
The typhoon is internationally named Francisco. Upon entering PAR, it will be locally amed Urduja and it will be the 21st cyclone to enter PAR this year.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said the Amihan may bring isolated light rain to Metro Manila and Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley regions and Central Luzon.
It said the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. (JK/Sunnex)
