NDRRMC: Aftershocks from Oct. 15 quake near 3,000-A A +A

MANILA -- The number of aftershocks from the October 15 killer quake in Central Visayas almost reached the 3,000 mark early Monday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
In its 6 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said 2,937 aftershocks had been noted as of 12 a.m. Monday, of which 78 were felt.
However, the death toll stayed at 215. Some 760 were reported injured while eight are missing.
The quake affected 671,779 families or 3,217,094 people. Some 20,677 families or 105,186 people are staying in 367 evacuation centers. (JK/Sunnex)
