THE Ateneo de Manila University has tightened its security after one of its students was kidnapped inside the campus last Thursday, November 21.

The university posted Monday on its website a statement dated November 23, saying a student was kidnapped around 6 p.m. in the North Car Park of the Loyola Heights Campus.

The student, however, was released "unharmed" and no ransom was paid.

"By God's grace, our student has returned to the campus and now attends classes," it added.

The administration said it will put additional lights and deploy more roving guards in parking areas. Stricter rules will also be implemented in the entrance and exit of people and vehicles on campus.

Fr. Nemesio S. Que, vice president of Ateneo de Manila University, reminded the students, faculty and employees to always wear their identification cards.

Que also urged them to report suspicious people or behavior to their security office at 426-6001 local 4111; 09999925715; and 09175628641 or ADSA hotline at 09209142372. (Sunnex)
