MANILA -- After the tail-end of the cold front, the Northeast Monsoon (Hanging Amihan) affects Northern Luzon while a trough of a low pressure area (LPA) is over Mindanao, state weather forecasters said Wednesday.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the regions of Caraga and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said, "The regions of Cagayan, Cordillera and Ilocos and the province of Aurora will be cloudy with light rain."
"Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms," it added.
Pagasa also issued a gale warning over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to Amihan.
"Strong to gale force winds is expected to affect the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon," Pagasa said.
It warned, "Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves." (SFP/Sunnex)
