Aquino accepts Carandang's resignation-A A +A
Thursday, December 12, 2013
PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has accepted the resignation of Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO) Secretary Ricky Carandang, a Palace official said Thursday.
Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said that two days ago, Aquino accepted Carandang's resignation effective December 31, 2013.
"Secretary Carandang thanked the President for the chance to serve the administration and the country. The President also thanked him for his service to the country," he said.
Carandang’s term of service came during the eventful first half of the Aquino presidency, where he worked behind the scenes and before the cameras to do his part to communicate the President’s message, he said.
Lacierda said Carandang will return to the private sector after a short and well-deserved vacation.
Following Carandang’s departure from public service, Undersecretary Manuel L. Quezon III, as the most senior official of PCDSPO, will oversee the office’s operations, he added. (SDR/Sunnex)
