Thursday, December 12, 2013
MANILA -- State weather forecasters on Thursday said that the Northeast Monsoon (Hanging Amihan) continues to affect the northern part of Luzon while the trough of a low pressure area is over Mindanao.
The Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain showers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.
The rain may trigger flashfloods and landslides, it added.
Pagasa also said, "Cagayan Valley, Bicol and Davao region will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms."
Meanwhile, the skies over the regions of Cordillera and Ilocos will be cloudy with light rain, it said.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
The state weather agency added that moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough while elsewhere in the country winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas. (SFP/Sunnex)
