66 out of the 422 officials file corrected Soces-A A +A

A TOTAL of 66 out of the 422 elected local officials have so far complied with the order of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to correct their respected Statement of Contribution and Expenditures (Soces).
Based on the poll body website, as of December 16, those who submitted their modified Soces are 12 members of the House of Representatives; two governors; one vice governor; three provincial board members; one city mayor; three city vice mayors, eight city councilors; four municipal mayors, five municipal vice mayors and 27 municipal councilors.
The 12 lawmakers are Muntinlupa Representative Rodolfo Biazon; Manila third district Representative Naida Angping; Manila fourth district Representative Trisha Bonoan-David; Ilocos Sur first district Representative Ronald Singson; San Jose del Monte City Representative Arthur Robes; Batangas first district Representative Eileen Ermita-Buhain; Batangas third district Representative Nelson Collantes; Batangas fourth district Representative Dong Mendoza; Antipolo second district Representative Romeo Acop; Quezon first district Representative Wilfrido Mark Enverga; North Cotabato second district Representative Nancy Catamco; and Lanao del Sur second district Pangalian Balindong.
Also found to have filed compliant Soces already are Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Luis Singson and Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino Jr.
On December 12, Comelec Chairperson Sixto Brillantes has ordered the 422 elected local officials to temporarily vacate their positions for failure to comply with Republic Act (RA) 7166.
Section 14 of RA 7166 states that “no person elected to any public office shall enter upon the duties of his office until he has filed the statement of contributions and expenditures required.” (FP/Sunnex)
