4 moderate quakes jolt Davao Occidental-A A +A

MANILA -- Four moderate earthquakes hit the province of Davao Occidental on Thursday including a 4.8 magnitude that occurred in the afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the first quake with a magnitude of 2.5 occurred at 5:22 a.m. Its epicenter was traced 59 kilometers northeast of Sarangani town in Davao Occidental.
The second tremor with a magnitude of 3.8 happened at 8:22 a.m. Its epicenter was located 264 kilometers southeast of the same town.
At around 12:13 p.m., another quake with a magnitude of 4.8 struck Davao Occidental again. Its epicenter was traced 270 kilometers southeast ofthe town of Sarangani.
Four hours later, a fourth tremor with a magnitude of 2.9 was recorded in the said province and its epicenter was located 65 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town.
Phivolcs did not report any felt intensity from the fourtectonic quakes.
The agency added that no damage was reported from thesetremors as it did not expect aftershocks from it. (PNA)
