MANILA -- Expect colder days ahead as the the surge of the Northeast Monsoon (Hanging Amihan) affect most of Luzon, state weather forecasters said on Friday.
"Metro Manila and the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with light rain," the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 a.m. forecast.
This is because Hanging Amihan is currently affecting Northern and Central Luzon, Pagasa said.
The state weather agency added, "Quezon province will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms."
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Pagasa also issued a gale warning due to the Northeast Monsoon.
It said, "Strong to gale force winds are expected to affect the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon."
"Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessel are alerted against big waves," Pagasa warned. (SFP/Sunnex)
