MANILA -- People going out on Christmas Day should bring their rain gears as light to moderate rain is expected on many parts of the Philippines.
The state weather agency said in its 5 a.m. buletin that the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) affects Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon hovers over Northern Luzon, causing light rain.
"Aurora and the regions of Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Davao, Caraga and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms," the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
It added, "The regions of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Cordillera will experience cloudy skies with light rain."
Meanwhile, the skies over Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Pagasa also said, "Moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east with slight to moderate seas." (SFP/Sunnex)
