MANILA -- The cold spell of the Northeast Monsoon (Hanging Amihan) directly affects Northern Luzon, state weather forecasters said on Friday.

Meanwhile, the tail-end of a cold front hovers over Bicol region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

It added that most of the country will have cloudy skies with light rain.

"Bicol Region, Mimaropa and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms," Pagasa said.

It also said, "The regions of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Cordillera will experience cloudy skies with light rain."

The state weather bureau also said, "Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms."

It also said, "Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the east and northeast over southern Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas." (SFP/Sunnex)
