Magnitude 4.5 quake strikes Surigao del Sur

A MAGNITUDE 4.5 earthquake struck the province of Surigao del Sur at 10:20 a.m. Sunday.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake's epicenter was located 24 kilometers (km) southeast of Tandag, Surigao del Sur.

The tremor, which is tectonic in origin, has a depth of 36 km.

Intensity III was felt in Tandag, while intensity II was felt in Bislig City.

Phivolcs said there are no expected damages and aftershocks. (Sunnex)
