CEBU CITY -- An estimated population of 35,000 Marian devotees joined the “Walk with Mary” foot penitential procession from Fuente Osmeña Circle to Basilica del Sto. Niño in this city on Friday dawn.
The number decreased compared to the 45,000 estimated people in the opening salvo last Thursday.
Aside from Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Church, among other participants were Dawn Rosary organization from Barangay Tisa and Remedios Parish Church from Labangon.

Cebu City Police Chief Wildemar T. Tiu said the celebration was well-organized as there were no reported injuries or any untoward incident.
Fr. Jonas Mejares, rector of the Basilica, earlier said they have deployed more lay ministers and personnel to cater the huge crowd.
Volunteers from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) were also stationed at different points of the procession.
In his homily during the ninth-day novena mass held after the procession on Friday, Monsignor Jose Montecillo talked about humility and the acceptance of failure.
The mass was followed by the "Traslacion," or the transportation of the image of Sr. Santo Niño from the Basilica to St. Joseph Parish in Mandaue City.
The image is also set to be returned to the Pilgrim Center on Saturday morning through a fluvial procession.
