MANILA -- The cold spell is here to stay until February as the Northeast Monsoon continues to affect Luzon and Visayas, state weather forecasters said on Monday.

Meanwhile, "The whole country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain," the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.

It added that there are no possible tropical cyclones within the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of Monday.

Pagasa also said, "Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the northeast to north over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough." (SFP/Sunnex)
