Trough of LPA brings rains in Mindanao

THE trough of low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility will continue to bring cloudy and rainy weather in Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said the regions of Davao and Soccsksargen will experience cloudy with light moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

It added that the rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas, and from northeast to north over Caraga and Davao Region. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Cloudy skies with light rains will also prevail in the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Bicol and the provinces of Quezon and Aurora.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. (Sunnex)
