MANILA -- Unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen shot dead on Tuesday afternoon two people onboard a taxi in Quezon City.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) chief Superintendent Elmer Monsalve said the victims, a man and a woman, were inside a "Valentino" taxi traversing the Elliptical Road near the Quezon City Circle when two men fired shots at them.

"Ang sabi nung taxi driver, huminto siya kasi sinenyasan siya nung taxi driver na kasunod niya at nanghihiram daw ng tools. Paghinto niya, pinagbabaril na 'yung dalawang biktima," he said.

Police have not yet identified the victims as there was no identification card recovered at the crime scene.

"Pera lang at papel na may nakasulat na address ng korte ang nasa bulsa ng mga biktima," Monsalve said.

Jaime Forves, driver of the Valentino taxi, said that he picked up the victims at the Quezon City hall of justice. Forves was unhurt.

Monsalve said Forves and the other taxi driver identified as Romel Dinulos are now under investigation.

"Mejo kahinahinala kasi unang una nasa inner lane sila at 'yung paghinto nila kahinahinala din kaya isa sila sa mga iimbestigahan," he said. (Sunnex)
