Wednesday, March 19, 2014
TWO policemen, including an officer, were arrested in an entrapment operation on Monday after they allegedly extorted money from a motorist.
Police Regional Office 10 head Chief Superintendent Isagani Francisco Genabe Jr. said Superintendent Michael John Deloso and PO3 Ernesto B. Galleto were nabbed after being caught on the act of accepting two envelopes containing P2,400 from a man whom they refused to name inside a hotel in Cagayan De Oro City around 1:30 p.m. of March 17.
Deloso is the head of the Traffic Unit of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, while Galleto is one of his personnel.
"This is something not to emulate in the PNP (Philippine National Police). Instead, they will be punished accordingly so as not to affect the integrity of the Police Regional Office-10," Genabe said.
Deloso and Galleto are detained in the Cagayan de Oro City jail. Both are facing possible criminal and administrative charges. (Sunnex)
