Saturday, March 22, 2014
MANILA -- Tropical Depression Caloy weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) on Saturday afternoon after making landfall in Surigao del Sur, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
As of 5 p.m. Saturday, the weather bureau said Caloy was in the vicinity of Surigao City.
All public storm warning signals were lowered, Pagasa said.
Eastern Visayas and Caraga regions will continue to have cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas. (JAC/Sunnex)
