THE alleged architect of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam, Janet Napoles, is set to be transferred Monday to a hospital in Makati City for treatment, a police official said.
Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Chief Superintendent Theodore Sindac, in an interview, said that anytime Monday, Napoles will be transferred from the Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna to the Ospital ng Makati in Makati City to undergo an operation to remove a tumor found in her uterus.
Napoles has been detained at the Fort Sto. Domingo since 2013 for the illegal detention of pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
On February 26, Napoles underwent check-up at the Philippine National Police General Hospital (PNP-GH) after complaining abdominal pain and menstrual bleeding in November 2013.
After the check-up, PNP-GH doctors said they found a mass in Napoles' uterus but her condition is "not life threatening."
On March 21, Napoles together with her legal counsel went to the Makati Regional Trial Court and personally appealed that she be allowed to undergo surgery and hospital confinement for the same reason.
Last Friday, the Makati court allowed Napoles, to undergo surgery and post-operative care at the Ospital ng Makati. (Sunnex)
