THREE miners died when a mining site collapsed in Magdiwang town in Romblon province Wednesday.

Rosario Cabrera, director of the Office of Civil Defense in Calabarzon, said the victims were brought to the town's rural health unit after the incident but they didn’t make it alive.

Cabrera identified the fatalities as Noriel Rapada, 25; Louie Valencia, 21; and Ernesto Dalida, 27. The victims were all residents of Magdiwang.

Cabrera said the three were engaged in "illegal mining" at Dulangan village around 9 a.m. when the mining site collapsed. (VR/Sunnex)
