MANILA -- Most parts of the Philippines will have sunny to partly cloudy skies in the next two to three days as the low pressure area (LPA) dissipated, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

The LPA, earlier named tropical depression “Domeng,” lingered inside the country for two weeks.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Fernando Cada said Visayas and Mindanao, which experienced rains in the past days due to the LPA, will have gradual weather improvement.

Cada said no tropical cyclone is expected to affect the country until Easter Sunday.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said the whole country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

It added that moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and eastern Visayas.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to northwest with slight to moderate seas.

For Holy Thursday, Cada said Metro Manila will have temperature range of 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.

The hottest temperature in the country for this year was recorded in Tuguegarao City at 37.9 degrees Celsius last March 31. (PNA/Sunnex)
