Budget chief denies ‘tutoring’ Napoles in designing PDAF scam-A A +A

BUDGET Secretary Florencio Abad said on Friday that calling him as "Pork King" was most ridiculous, as he belied reports of tutoring Janet Lim-Napoles in designing the pork barrel scam.
"These fresh allegations that I 'tutored' Janet Lim Napoles in designing the PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund) scam are simply not true," the Budget chief said in a statement.
Abad was reacting to a report by The Daily Tribune quoting a source that he allegedly taught Napoles, alleged brains in the multi-billion peso PDAF mess, how to expand the scam business.
This information was allegedly contained in Napoles' written testimony that she submitted to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.
"I've been called several names since I began serving in this Administration, but 'Pork King' is certainly the most ridiculous. It would in fact be funny if it weren't such a blatant lie," Abad said.
He added that he could not further comment properly on the matter until he receives a copy of Napoles' affidavit.
"Suffice it to say that I have never dealt with Janet Lim Napoles, much less acted as a mentor in executing her alleged schemes," he said. (SDR/Sunnex)
