Aquino hopes SC to finally rule on Meralco's power rate hike-A A +A

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday raised concern that Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) might charge its customers with interest in case the Supreme Court declares as legal the P4.15 per kilowatt hour rate hike in its franchised areas.
Aquino made the statement during a dialogue with different labor groups in Malacanang.
"Dito sa Meralco franchised areas, at some point in time, na ide-termine (kung) tama 'yung paniningil.
The Supreme Court recently extended the TRO on Meralco's petition to implement the P4.15/kwh power rate increase to its customers.
The high tribunal first issued a TRO against Meralco's power rate hike last December. (SDR/Sunnex)
