THE Aquino administration is hoping that Ruby Tuason, who was granted immunity by the Office of the Ombudsman, would disclose everything that she's aware of regarding the alleged misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel.
"We note the grant of immunity by the Ombudsman to Ms. Tuason, which is allowed pursuant to the Ombudsman law," said Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr.
"We hope that with such immunity, Ms. Tuason can reveal the whole truth, thus, aiding in the people's quest for justice," he stressed.
The Office of the Ombudsman has granted immunity to Tuason in exchange for her testimony in the alleged pork barrel scam.
As a provisional state-witness, Tuason is expected to produce documents in her possession on the details of the alleged misuse of the PDAF by the lawmakers she personally knew.
Tuason, who was one of those charged with plunder in relation to PDAF scam, applied to be a state witness.
Apart from giving testimony regarding her knowledge on the pork barrel scam, she also returned P40 million to the government. The fund was reportedly the kickbacks that she received for brokering between businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles, alleged mastermind in the pork barrel scam, and some lawmakers, such as Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile.
