IT WILL be a warm and humid Thursday as the ridge of a high pressure area (HPA) continues to be the dominant weather system affecting Luzon and the Visayas.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather forecaster Aldcazar Aurelio explained that Luzon and Visayas was experiencing a heat surge because of the ridge of a high pressure area. A high-pressure area brings dry and warm winds.

However, Aurelio said isolated thunderstorms and rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening are also expected due to a convective activity brought about by intense heat that triggers the formation of more cumulonimbus clouds or dark clouds associated with thunderstorms that brings rains.

He further noted that no tropical cyclone is expected to affect the country within the next two to three days.

Aurelio said the HPA will bring high temperatures and good weather conditions to the country in the coming days. (PNA)
