Palace to Napoles: Finish affidavit first before asking any conditions-A A +A
Saturday, May 24, 2014
ALLEGED pork barrel queen Janet Napoles should complete first her affidavit before coming out with any requests or conditions, Malacanang said Saturday.
"Siguro, hintayin natin ‘yung affidavit niya bago ‘yung mga hiling at ‘yung mga sinasabing kesyo kondisyon na ganito, kesyo kondisyon na ganyan," said deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte in an interview over dzRB Radyo Ng Bayan.
Napoles reportedly was asking the government to spare her children from any charges.
Earlier, it was also reported that the detained businesswoman was asking for immunity and wanted to be a state witness in the alleged misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of some lawmakers in exchange of squealing everything that she knew about the alleged anomaly.
Valte said that any request for immunity would be up to the Office of the Ombudsman and to the courts handling Napoles case.
"It's not for us to decide," she said.
Meanwhile, on allegation reportedly by whistleblower Merlina Suñas that Budget Secretary Florencio Abad also dealt with Napoles when he was still a lawmaker, Valte said that this should be supported by evidence.
"Alam niyo medyo magulo ho kasi ‘yung mga sinasabing claims laban kay Secretary Abad, but katulad ng sinabi ni Secretary Abad, handa po siyang harapin ‘yung mga ganitong statement at dapat ho ‘yung mga ganito ay hindi lang sabi-sabi ngunit talagang dapat sinusuportahan ho ng ebidensiya," she said.
