A MEMBER of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), who figured in an attack that left three American and Filipino troops, was arrested by security forces in Indanan town in Sulu on Sunday morning.

Police announced on Monday the arrest of the suspect, identified as Mihaji Hamjuda, alias Mahang, who is described as an MNLF bomb expert.

Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong said Hamjuda was nabed around 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Ummul Qurrah in Kajatian village in Indanan town.

Magalong said the operation was supported by Marine soldiers.

He said they effected the arrest of Hamjuda based on a warrant issued by a Sulu court.

Hamjuda was involved in a 2009 roadside bombing in Kagay village, also in Sulu, that left two US Navy seabeas personnel and a Filipino troops dead. (VR/Sunnex)
