Magnitude 5.1 quake rocks Antique-A A +A

A MAGNITUDE 5.1 earthquake struck the province of Antique at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.
In its bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor, which is tectonic in origin, was located at 21 kilometers (km) southeast of Anini-y, Antique. It had a depth of 10 km.
Intensity IV was felt in Anini-y, San Jose and Tobias Fornier, Antique; Iloilo City; Bago City and La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
Intensity III was felt in Oton, Iloilo; La Carlota, Negros Occcidental; and Jagna, Bohol.
The areas of Ajuy, Iloilo; Culasi, Antique; and Basay, Negros Occidental felt intensity II.
Six minutes later, at 5:51 a.m., a 4.2-magnitude aftershock rattled the province with the same epicenter.
The tremor had a depth of 11 km and was also tectonic in origin.
Intensity III was felt in Anini-y, San Jose, Antique; and Iloilo City.
Phivolcs said there were no reported damages and aftershocks. (Sunnex)
