Truck hits power lines, causes black outs in Calbayog City

CALBAYOG CITY, Samar -- A loader truck caught some power lines along Rosales Blvd. corner Rama St. around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, causing black outs in some parts of the city.

The loader dragged and damaged at least three blocks of power and communication service lines.

Witnesses said the truck was speeding around 50 kilometers per hour (kph) when the incident happened.

The truck driver, who was brought to the police station for questioning, blamed the absence of road signs for the accident.
