MANILA (Updated) -- Detained lawyer Jessica Lucila "Gigi" Reyes was rushed Friday night to the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City under heavy police guard after complaining of chest pains.

Reyes was released from the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital (TPDH) where she was confined since Thursday after she experienced persistent chest pains, said hospital director Dr. Prudencio Sta. Lucia.

"Mrs. Jessica Reyes complained of persistent chest pain which was accompanied by difficulty of breathing around 4:30 p.m. ECG showed non-significant ST-T wage changes. Anti-anginal medication was given which offered no relief. An acute coronary event was considered and thus opted to transfer patient in the Philippine Heart Center for further evaluation and management," Sta. Lucia said in a text message to reporters.

Reyes arrived at the heart center past 9 p.m. and she will undergo cardiac examination.

In a medical bulletin issued Friday morning, the TPDH said Reyes no longer has headache and palpitation and her back pains have lessened. However, Reyes lacked the appetite to eat and experienced dizziness, the hospital said.

Reyes was hospitalized last Thursday after suffering from an anxiety attack in her detention cell at the Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

Reyes, a former chief of staff of Senate Minority Floor Leader Juan Ponce Enrile, failed to attend her arraignment for plunder at the Sandiganbayan on Friday as she was not cleared by the Taguig hospital.

Reyes and Enrile face plunder charges along with several high-profile personalities for their alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam. (ABC/Sunnex)
