NDRRMC reports first 'Glenda' fatality

THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Wednesday that a woman from Northern Samar, hit by a falling electric post, was the first fatality for Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun).

NDRRMC identified the victim as Lourdes Ongray Lim, 25.

Lim was killed after being hit by a falling electric post in Allen, Northern Samar.

Aside from this, Antonio Habana, 16 and Jesus Vargas, 84, residents of Sitio Sta. Cruz, Barangay Nato, Sagnay, Camarines Sur were burned after being electrocuted accidentally.

The two are now undergoing treatment at the Bicol Medical Center.

The NDRRMC also reported that 33,802 families, or 148,525 persons, from Mimaropa, Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas were sheltered in evacuation centers. (PNA)
