OCD Regional Officer Olivia M. Luces handed over the equipment to CentCom Commander Lieutenant General John Bonafos during the turnover ceremony on July 16, 2014, which was also the third day of the three-day Joint RDRRMC-CentCom Simulation Exercise (Simex).

Among the equipment given to CentCom were life locator, thermal imager, snake camera, diving tanks, diving fins, wet suits, buoyancy compensator device regulator, spreader cutter and underwater camera.

Engr. Ver Neil Balaba, technical support division chief of OCD-Central Visayas, said the equipment were given to CentCom as they are the right people considering their capacities on search and rescue.

He added that the said turnover enhances the inter-operability between the two bureaus both under the Department of National Defense as the frontliners in responding to various disasters at the regional level.

Present during turnover ceremony were RDRRMC-Central Visayas member-agencies, which were represented in the Simex. (OCD-7)
