Abu Sayyaf bandits abduct 3 DSWD workers

ZAMBONGA CITY – Abu Sayyaf bandits have abducted three government workers in the province of Sulu, an official said Friday.

Sulu police director Senior Superintendent Abraham Orbita said the victims, whose identities are withheld upon the request of the families, are employees of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Orbita said the victims were abducted around 2 p.m. Thursday in the village of Upper Sinumaan, Talipao town while conducting survey for the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

He said police personnel and military forces were deployed to track down the victims’ whereabouts.
