3 Mandaluyong jail escapees back in custody-A A +A
Tuesday, July 22, 2014
THREE of the 11 inmates who escaped from the temporary jail of Mandaluyong City police station are now back behind bars, an official said Tuesday.
Mandaluyong police director Senior Superintendent Tyrone Amasigon said escapees Alber Llaneta and Nalson Yambao who are facing theft and robbery charges, respectively, were arrested in their relatives' house, hours after their escape.
On Tuesday, 11 inmates bolted the police station jail by cutting through the steel bars of their detention cell.
Amasigon said the inmates "worked their way out" for three days. Djordan Villadolid masterminded the plan.
"Para hindi sila mabuko at marinig nang mga bantay 'yung ingay na nanggagaling dun sa paglalagari sinasabayan nila 'yun ng pagbuhos ng tubig sa banyo," he said.
Police have conducted manhunt operations immediately after they discovered the jail bolt, resulting in the arrest of one of the escapees, Gabby Capistrano.
Earlier, Amasigon said five jail officers, including one jail supervisor, two jail guards, one jail guard on duty and an incoming jailer, were relieved from post following the incident.
Hunt is still on for the last nine prisoners. (Sunnex)
