Gunmen abduct girl in Oluntanga, Zamboanga Sibugay-A A +A

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Five gunmen believed to be members of a kidnap-for-ransom-group (KFRG) have abducted the nine-year-old daughter of a businessman in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Saturday.
Zamboanga Peninsula Police Regional Office (PRO-9) information officer-in-charge Dahlan Samuddin said the incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. Friday in the village of Poblacion, Oluntanga town.
Inspector Samuddin identified the victim as Princess Jewel Mariel Nique, the daughter James Nique Jr., one of the known businessmen in Oluntanga town.
Samuddin said the victim was seized by three of the five gunmen who barged into the eatery owned by the victim’s family while the other two gunmen waited at their motorized banca.
The gunmen forced the victim to board on the motorized banca and sped to the high seas, the police said.
He said the troops from the Army’s 44th Infantry Battalion but lost track of the suspects.
Samuddin said all militia detachments in the coastal areas of Oluntanga and of the nearby areas were alerted to be on the lookout for the victim
He said the troops from the Army’s 44th Infantry Battalion launched intelligence operations in coordination with Olutanga police force to track down the victim’s whereabouts. (Sunnex)
