MANILA (Updated) -- Classes and work are cancelled the rest of the day on Thursday at Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila due to a bomb threat received by school authorities.

"The University officials of FEU Manila and FEU Tech have decided to call off classes today (July 31, 2014) due to a suspected bomb threat. The university is working closely with Security Personnel to address the situation and secure the campus. Please vacate the premises immediately in an orderly fashion," the university said on its official Facebook account.

Lemuel Pescador, a student of FEU, said the school administration advised its personnel and students around 11:30 a.m. to immediately vacate the campus following receipt of a suspected bomb threat.

"Doon po sa mga speakers na meron sa mga hallway doon po nila inannounce straightly na meron nga daw pong bomb threat, agad po kaming pinalabas nung mga professor naming," he said.

Pescador said police have deployed teams to the university to verify the threat. (Sunnex)
