4 Cebu grads top CPA 2014 board exam-A A +A

CEBU CITY -- Four Cebuano graduates made it to the top 10 in the July 2014 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday.
Three are graduates of the University of San Carlos (USC) and the other one is from the Southwestern University (SWU).
The USC students were Ray Hamodi Balagbis Ngalot (third place, 92.43 percent rating); Jamaica Perez Englis (sixth place, 91.43 percent rating), and Thomas Zachary Pineda Sarigumba (eighth spot, 91.14 percent rating).
SWU student Lyndon Giganto Asis got the tenth place with 90.43 percent rating.
Rommel Rhino Catudio Edusma of the Asian Development Foundation College grabbed the top place with 94.57 percent, followed by Joanna Marie Lim Barrozo of San Beda College of Alabang Inc., with 93.43 percent.
Other top 10 examinees are:
4th rank -- Orville Perdon Rabino of the Adventist University of the Philippines (92 percent)
5th rank -- Joscel barrio delos Cielos of the Xavier University (91.57 percent)
7th rank -- Ken Lester Tantiado Guillen of the Polythecnic University of the Philippines-Main and Dann Karlo Alfaro Manzano of San Beda College (91.29 percent)
8th rank -- Eros dela Rosa Herrera of San Beda College of Alabang Inc. (91.14 percent)
9th rank -- Jo-Ann Herrera Mercado of the Polythecnic University of the Philippines-Sto. Tomas (90.86 percent)
10th rank -- Adrian Caguete Enriquez of San Beda College (90.43 percent)

The PRC said 1,107 out of 5,540 examinees passed the examinations, which was held in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi last month. (Daryl D. Anunciado/Sunnex)
