Kris to public: Please pray for President that he stays alive-A A +A

ACTRESS and television host Kris Aquino urged the public on Friday to pray for President Benigno Aquino III that he stays alive and in good health.
Kris, the youngest sister of the President, made the call during a short message she delivered after the mass to commemorate the death anniversary of their mother, President Corazon Aquino.
Amid the criticisms and the impeachment complaints filed against the President, Kris said she volunteered that she would be the one to deliver a message on the death anniversary of their mother so that she could ask for the people's support for her brother.
"You know, I think it took siguro what happened noong Monday for all of us to realize that we should not be complacent, na kung gusto natin si Noy (referring to the President), we want him to succeed, all of us should be there with him," she said referring to Aquino's 5th State of the Nation Address (Sona) where the President became emotional.
"Hindi lang in the moments na kini-criticize siya but more importantly in the moments that he is doing good...he can't do it on his own. We need to stand by him and give him strength. And please pray with us also that he stays alive. Hindi iyong ano talaga kasi parang -- hindi gusto namin talaga good health, wisdom, strength, courage and he has the fortitude to last," Kris said.
She recalled that when Mrs. Aquino was still alive, they did not have to pray for her since no matter what she went through, they knew that she could handle it.
"But it's really different when it's your brother. Iba iyong nararamdaman mo, iba iyong gusto mong gawin para matulungan siya and siguro ako may karapatan magsalita dahil alam naman ni Noy kung gaano kalaki iyong buwis na binabayad ko," she said.
Kris has been consistently one of the top taxpayers in the country.
"And this is the time that I am not complaining. Iyong quarterly tax na binabayad ko, Noy alam mo yon, sa iyo ko na lang kino-complain pero natutuwa ako talaga naman na number one, ganun kalaki ang kita ko, kaya ganun kalaki iyong buwis; pero sa magandang paraan napupunta. Sa mga magagaling na Cabinet secretary na hindi binubulsa iyong pera, sa magandang pamamalakad ng gobyerno," she said.
The actress admitted that she had blocked some of her social networking followers who became critical of Aquino, while replying to those who say good things about her brother.
"Siyempre yung mga nega(tive) bina-block ko na lang. Pero konting-konti lang sila and iyon e. I shared that with my sisters and I guess I can tell that to Noy now that the great majority of our people still really believe in him. They know what the good job he is doing. Ang problema lang iyong mga bilib tumatahimik," she said.
Thus, she asked those who support the President to give him encouragement.
She said that when she and her two children pray every night, they asked that God continue to guide the President.
"Give him strength, tulungan Mo siya. Bigyan Ninyo siya ng inspirasyon, palakasin Ninyo siya at sana iyong mga naniniwala sa kanya iparamdam sa kanya araw-araw na hindi siya nag-iisa," she said, adding that Mrs. Aquino could be very proud of the President.
She thanked those who continue to wear yellow as an expression of support to Aquino.
Her message to those who continue to hit the President, "okay lang tirahin nyo kami ng tirahin, marami naman kaming venue para i-angat si Noy."
Kris has two television shows from Monday to Friday and another one every Sunday in one network. (SDR/Sunnex)
