Typhoon Jose enters PAR-A A +A

MANILA -- Typhoon Jose (International name: Halong) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday evening, the state weather bureau said.
As of 12 a.m. Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Jose was spotted at 1,210 kilometers (km) east of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 195 kph.
Jose is forecast to move west northwest at 11 kph.
The state weather bureau said the typhoon will not yet affect any part of the country. However, the southwest monsoon or "hanging habagat" will bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Calabarzon and Mimaropa.
Joe is expected to be at 1,060 km east of Casiguran, Aurora by Sunday afternoon and at 940 km east of Tuguegarao City by Monday afternoon.
By Tuesday afternoon, the typhoon is expected to be at 810 km east of Basco, Batanes.
The weather agency has not issued a public storm warning signal, as of this posting. (Sunnex)
