No Pinoy casualty in quake-hit China

THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported Monday that there were no Filipino casualties in the magnitude-6.1 earthquake that struck the Yunnan, China, on Sunday.

In an interview, DFA Spokesman Charles Jose said they have received a report that no Filipino nationals were among the casualties of the quake.

"No Filipinos were affected by the earthquake in Yunnan Province of China," said Jose.

All 70 Filipino nationals in Yunnan, China are safe and accounted for, according to Jose.

On Sunday afternoon, a magnitude-6.1 quake struck the southern Chinese province.

This resulted to the death of 398 people and about 1,800 others injured as of the latest count. (HDT/Sunnex)
