'Jose' to exit PH Thursday-A A +A

MANILA -- Typhoon "Jose" is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday and will head toward Japan, the Philippine Atmosheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.
The typhoon, however, continues to enhance the southwest monsoon that will bring rains in most parts of the country.
As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jose was located at 850 kilometers (km) east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, Pagasa posted on its latest Twitter update.
Jose, bringing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph), is forecast to move north at 15 kph.
The weather bureau said Ilocos region and the province of Zambales will experience monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have occasional rains, while Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. (NMP/Sunnex)
