A LOST wallet containing P150,000 and check has been returned to its owner after it was found by a fourth year high school student.

Jeffrey Balbero, a senior high school student at Tagum City National High School, found the wallet in the school's gymnasium on Tuesday and surrendered it to Judith Onlos, the school's principal.

The wallet belongs to a student's parent, a television report said.

The report added Balbero was an orphan and a working student at the home of Dr. Eugenia Hingpit.

Hingpit said that when they adopt Balbero, he was always taught the importance of honesty.

"If you see anything which you do not own, you must return it because only God knows what is right and wrong," Balbero said.

Balbero's good deed will be recognized in a ceremony on Monday. (Sunnex)
