MALACANANG was prepared on whatever would be the outcome of the impeachment complaints against President Benigno Aquino III.

In a media briefing, Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said that the Palace respects the process at the House of Representatives being a co-equal branch.

"Hinggil po 'dun sa impeachment, batid naman natin na ito ay proseso ng Camara de Representantes at iginagalang natin ang mga proseso ng Kamara dahil ito ay hiwalay at pantay na sangay ng pamahalaan," he said.

The House of Representatives committee on justice voted on Tuesday to declare as sufficient in form the three verified impeachment complaints against Aquino.

Asked if the Palace was prepared on whatever outcome of the impeachment raps, Coloma said, "Yes."

The first two impeachment complaints against the President were based on the decision of the Supreme Court declaring parts of the Disbursement Acceleration Program as unconstitutional, while the third rap was for the administration's move to forge Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca) with the government of the United States.

The House panel will meet again on Tuesday next week to determine whether the impeachment complaints are sufficient in substance. (SDR/Sunnex)
