A PHOTOGRAPH of a man who died in an alleged crime committed by some drug users in Ubay, Bohol, has gone viral on Facebook.
Maria Rodenel dela Cruz, the sibling of alleged mauling victim Ronnel dela Cruz, uploaded the photo of the remains of her brother on her Facebook account to give justice to his death.
"He (Ronnel) was just having his vacation in the province when one night, a group of drug users in the place blocked his way while riding in his motor," Dela Cruz said on her post.
Autopsy report said Dela Cruz died after the suspects mauled him.
Dela Cruz said the suspects were not apprehended and even bragged the crime they did to her brother.
"The police did not make any investigation and instead, they said the cause of death was motor accident," Dela Cruz said.
Dela Cruz hoped that they will get the justice they were looking for after sharing it on Facebook.
She said she uploaded the photo of Ronnel not to humiliate him but to show the government what was happening in the country.
If that is the only way to awaken the government and to have the justice they want for her brother, Dela Cruz said her family was willing to carry the burden just to fight for what is right.
Netizens shared their sentiments on the death of Ronnel. They expressed their grief on the loss of the bereaved family.
"In the Philippines, 99 percent of justice are not given to the people who are killed, especially if you are from poor families," a comment in Facebook said.
A post also said they should seek help in the Ombudsman and tell what happened to her brother. Even if the process would take long, the netizen urged Dela Cruz to be patient.
The Facebook post garnered 19,271 likes and 47, 195 shares, as of posting. (Sunnex)
