Sison elected PCL-Pangasinan prexy (6:53 p.m.)
LINGAYEN — Urbiztondo Municipal Councilor Raul Sison is the new president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Pangasinan chapter.
During Tuesday’s elections of the group at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civil Center gym, Sison garnered 243 votes as against his close rival, Pozorrubio Municipal Councilor Dennis Uy’s 202 votes. The third candidate for the post, Basista Municipal Councilor Orlando de Guzman, got three votes.
Aside from Sison, also elected as officers of the group were Councilors Maria Isabel Villacorta of Manaoag (executive vice president), Cheryl Bascos of Villasis (secretary general), Rose Marcella of San Fabian (treasurer), Manuel Resuello of San Carlos City (PRO), Jose Carrera Jr. of Binmaley (business manager) and Artemio Amon of Bani (auditor).
Councilors Cecil Celeste of Anda, Alexander Parayno of Sta. Barbara, Dyna de Guzman of Urbiztondo, Dante Castro of Anda, Emmanuel Manipud of Calasiao, Noel Bautista of Binalonan, Jocelyn Visaya of Tayug and Reynaldo Dotimas of San Nicolas made it to the board of directors.
There were 465 Pangasinan councilors who had registered for the elections, but only 457 cast their votes. (LCMY/Sunnex)
