Davao: Bankerohan party for Estrada’s pardon (7:05 p.m.)

DAVAO–There is going to be one big party in Bankerohan in the coming days to celebrate the release of deposed President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.
In a phone interview Friday, erstwhile Barangay 5-A Captain and now City Councilor Edgar Ibuyan expressed jubilation over the development. Ibuyan is a vocal Estrada supporter and so is his barangay, earning it the tag of “Erap Country” in Davao City.
“Lipay kaayo ‘mi. Dili lang kay buhian na siya pero kani katapusan na pud sa usa ka dakong isyu sa nasod (We are very happy not just because Estrada will be released but also because this puts an end to a big issue hounding our country),” Ibuyan said, in reference to the eventual closure of the Estrada case that has plagued the nation for years now.
Estrada had visited Bankerohan when he was still president and Ibuyan had been invited to official functions of the former president when he was in town. (Sun.star Davao)
